Arrest Made After 20-Year-Old Woman Shot to Death in Shreveport
Police have charged a man in an overnight shooting in west Shreveport that left a young woman dead.
On August 04, 2023, just before 9:30 p.m., Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to reports of a shooting at the intersection of Lakeshore Drive and San Jacinto Avenue. Arriving officers located 20-year-old Breanna Hall suffering from multiple gunshot injuries. She was transported to Ochsner LSU Health Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
Patrol officers quickly established a crime scene perimeter and called for investigators with the Violent Crimes and Crime Scene Units. Several witnesses provided statements and video of the incident was recovered. During the hours-long investigation, several tips were received, and more witnesses came forward with information throughout the night. As a result of this collaborative effort, investigators were able to develop Steven D. Davis (2-10-1977) as the shooter. Davis surrendered himself to patrol officers and was transported to the Shreveport Police Complex for interviews.
Following interviews, Davis was charged with (1) one count of 2nd Degree Murder, (4) four counts of Att. 2nd Degree Murder, (1) one count of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and (1) one count of Possession of a Firearm in a Firearm Free Zone, then booked into the Shreveport City Jail.
The investigation is ongoing.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
