SHREVEPORT, LA 19-Year-Old Arrested After Violent Crime Spree
A 19-year-old man is in custody following a series of violent crimes that spanned multiple days and locations in Shreveport.
Monday, December 9, 2024, at approximately 7:10 PM Shreveport Police Patrol Officers responded to reports of physical domestic violence at a residence in the 400 block of Tulip Drive. Christian Braden allegedly entered the home and physically battered his ex-girlfriend, causing visible injuries, before fleeing the scene.
Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at approximately 1:35 AM Officers were dispatched to the 9300 block of E. Kings Highway after reports of an armed person and shots fired. Braden reportedly followed the same victim from Stratmore Drive to LSUS, discharging a firearm toward the victim while intentionally forcing them off the roadway. Braden fled from responding officers in a vehicle, wrecked, and escaped on foot.
Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at approximately 10:38 AM Officers responded again to the 400 block of Tulip Drive for another domestic violence report. Braden allegedly entered the home without consent, caused damage inside, and physically assaulted the victim a second time, leaving visible injuries. He also reportedly entered the victim's vehicle and took items without consent before fleeing the scene.
A joint investigation by SPD Violent Crimes and SPD Domestic Violence Units resulted in the issuance of a felony arrest warrant for Christian Braden. The charges included:
- Home Invasion
- Simple Burglary
- Misdemeanor Domestic Battery
Friday, December 13, 2024, at approximately 2:00 PM SPD Violent Crimes Investigators were investigating a suspicious vehicle at a residence in the 1900 block of Martha Street when Braden was located. He fled on foot but was apprehended after a brief pursuit.
Multiple Charges
Christian Braden was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on the outstanding arrest warrant and additionally charged with the following:
- Two counts of Attempted Second-Degree Murder
- Two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm
- Three additional counts of Domestic Battery
- Aggravated Flight from an Officer
- Possession of Schedule I Narcotics with Intent to Distribute
- Illegal Carrying of Weapons with a Controlled Dangerous Substance
- Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling
Braden’s arrest highlights the collaborative efforts of the Shreveport Police Department to bring violent offenders to justice and protect victims from further harm.
