Woman Arrested for Simple Arson

A Sheveport woman has been arrested on a charge of simple arson. 26-year-old Shuntell Thomas is accused of setting fire to a car parked under a carport late Sunday night. When firefighters arrived in the 4300 block of Hermosa, they found the car still smoldering but most of the fire was out because the homeowner had extinguished it with a garden hose. Next to the car, they found a small gas can. An investigation led them to Thomas and she was arrested today.
