Willie Nelson Death Is the Latest Internet Hoax

The latest celebrity death internet hoax sweeping across social media involved country music legend Willie Nelson. First of all, the 81-year-old Nelson is alive and well.

Nonetheless, news of Willie's demise hs been widely - and falsely - reported across Facebook and Twitter:

"At about 11 a.m. ET on Friday (April 10, 2015), our beloved guitarist Willie Nelson passed away. Willie Nelson was born on April 30, 1933 in Abbott. He will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page.”

And Nelson's representatives responded quickly to the rumors:

“He joins the long list of celebrities who have been victimized by this hoax. He's still alive and well, stop believing what you see on the Internet."
