While Elio Motors owner Paul Elio hems and haws about when production will begin and the Caddo Commission remains embroiled in controversy regarding the old GM plant, an Oregon based auto maker may be the first to get a three-wheeler on the road.

Eugene entrepreneur Paul Frohnmayer electric anticipates raising about $50 million in the this year, that to go with his $7.5 million to finance for production of his three-wheeler.

Frohnmayer's company, Arcimoto, has received more than 400 pre-orders and is targeting the end of 2016 for the first deliveries.

The Arcimoto boss is eyeing a few factory sites in the Eugene area, and says he'll select a spot in the next ninety days.
