Among the many of Governor John Bel Edwards proposed budget cuts, perhaps the one that will affect the folks of northwest Louisiana the most is the closing of Lake Bistineau State Park. As a result of John Bel's proposed belt tightening, a number of groups across this part of the state have sprung up to defend this outdoor paradise.

One of those petitioning the governor's office, Keep Lake Bistineau State park Open, already has more than 4,000 signatures, some local, and some beyond our state's borders.
