Regis Philbin announced on Tuesday that he's retiring from his long-running morning show after 25 years. The 79 year-old personality has had a slew of co-hosts over the years, most notably Kathie Lee Gifford from 1988-2000 and currently Kelly Ripa who's been with the show since 2001. ABC has stated that the show will continue without Reege. Here's who we think might replace him:

Neil Patrick Harris

The actor and adored awards show host has filled in for Regis quite a few times. He has a great rapport with Kelly and with his sitcom How I Met Your Mother in its sixth season, he may be looking for a new gig soon.

Anderson Cooper

Another favorite Regis substitute, Cooper makes the mostly-female audience of Live swoon. The host of CNN's Anderson Cooper 360 is best known as a newsman, but loves to let his silver hair down with Kelly.

Ryan Seacrest

Hollywood bloggers are predicting that Seacrest will add Live to his long list of hosting duties, which currently includes American Idol, E! News, and Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve, plus radio shows On Air with Ryan Seacrest and American Top 40.

Meredith Viera

Viera already replaced Regis once when she took over as host of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire in 2002. Plus, morning audiences are already familiar with her from her long run on ABC's The View.

Joy Philbin

Regis' better half has appeared on Live a number of times, popping up on old iterations of the show and filling in for Kathie Lee and Kelly, but hasn't had a steady gig of her own since her HGTV show ended.
