UPDATE: Barksdale AFB has released a statement since the original report from KSLA. The noise residents heard Monday night, was not hog hunting. Apparently, what you heard was 'unconventional tactical training.' We didn't think they were hunting pigs in the middle of the night!

Here's the update from KSLA News 12.

Original Story: If you had a hard time getting to sleep in the Haughton, LA area last night, you weren't alone! I started hearing things around my home in Princeton, LA sometime after 7pm, including at least one big boom. After that, it was hard to decipher what was happening over the din of all five of my dogs barking at once.

Gary McCoy, who lives about a mile from me in Haughton, says he observed four helicopters flying low and heard multiple explosions, what he had originally thought was thunder. As an experienced hunter, he says he didn't recognized the sounds at gunfire as reported, and if it was gunfire, he says it was a big gun or they were using Tannerite... basically every rednecks dream!

As it turns out, Eric Pointer at KSLA News 12 was able to get to the bottom of the mystery. According to Pointer, the folks at Barksdale were hunting wild boars... at night... in helicopters... We're not mad at you Barksdale, we just want to know what happened to our invitation!
