What do you think is Louisiana's largest company by revenue? Would you guess Dow Chemical of Baton Rouge? Possibly Bell Helicopter in Lafayette? Or maybe Shreveport's very own Schlumberger? Well, it's none of the above.

The largest company in Louisiana by revenue is CenturyLink. The Monroe-based communications firm is one of only two Louisiana companies on the Fortune 500 list of top revenue generators (Entergy in New Orleans is the other).

In 2013, CenturyLink was the number one money maker in our state - and 158th in the USA - with $18.1 billion in revenue.

And how about the rest of the US? Well, next door in Texas, Exxon Mobile is number one. And in our neighbor to the north Arkansas, it's (no surprise here) Walmart.
