West Shreveport Fire Claims Carport

A fire broke out on the 4th of July around 5:25 PM. in west Shreveport in the 6900 block of Klug Pines Road.  The smoke brought out lots of neighbors from a nearby trailer park, and the road was blocked off for some time to all through traffic.

Shreveport fire crews were on the scene in just minutes and extinguished the fire.  Billowing smoke could be seen from as far away as the interstate for about 10 minutes.

In the end, it appears that a detached carport off of a mobile home caught fire.

No word on what caused the blaze.
