Even though the weather has turned cooler, West Nile Virus is still a threat. The state Department of Health and Hospitals has confirmed 25 new Louisiana cases in the past week but no new deaths. So far this year, there have been 305 cases and 11 deaths in our state. There were seven new neuroinvasive cases reported this week with two of those here in Caddo Parish. Of the 18 new West Nile Fever cases reported this week, five were in Caddo and one in Bossier. There were no new asymptomatic cases reported.
