West Nile Cases Continue to Climb

Three more West Nile deaths have been confirmed in Louisiana — bringing to nine the number of people who have died from the virus in our state this year. 53 new cases of West Nile virus were confirmed in the past week — bring the total number of cases to 145 so far this year. Of those 53 new cases, 31 were the most serious neuroinvasive form of the disease. 2 of those were in Bossier Parish — 3 in Caddo. 17 of the new cases were West Nile Fever and one of those was in Bossier Parish
