Rodney Mallett, Communications Director with the Department of Environmental Quality, tells 7-10 KEEL even Shreveport-Bossier has the cleanest air ever recorded.
Mallett says one of the ways to keep Shreveport-Bossier clean is getting the public involved in ozone action days. Those are days when citizens volunteer to consume less power outdoors, which tends to clog the atmosphere.
This isn't a one time rating, though. Mallett says we'll need to work hard as a community to keep our atmosphere free of pollutants.
There's a website where you can check the current, real time pollution rating. It's
www.deq.louisiana.gov.
