The weekend has almost arrived, and many folks may choose some outdoor activities. But beware if you're headed toward Webster Parish. The Webster Sheriff's Office is again partnering with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries to conduct a sobriety checkpoint. In order to remind motorists of the increased need for safety on our busy roadways, they've chosen this coming Saturday and Sunday to conduct their plan. The Sheriff's Office will be sharing access to Wildlife and Fisheries' Intoxilyzer Van, a mobile office and command center complete with an Intoxilyzer 5000. During a joint checkpoint conducted last year, the use of that technology resulted in dozens of arrests and citations.
