A Webster Parish man accused of killing his father has been indicted by a Grand Jury.

After deliberating on the evidence presented to them by Bossier-Webster District Attorney Schuyler Marvin and Webster Parish Sheriff's Lt. Scott Tucker, jurors convened and quickly returned an indictment against JonConnor Joiner for the second-degree murder of his father, Billy Joiner.

According to the DA's Office, Mr. Joiner was found dead in his home May 13 after an officer noticed a donkey he knew belonged to the victim standing out in the road and went to the residence to notify him.

The case is scheduled for arraignment August 29, with the trial expected to be set in early 2017.
