Tornadoes hit very close to home yesterday -- in Dallas, Texas -- and that's prompted Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator to send out a reminder. The Caddo Sheriff's Office offers tornado safety education to all area second-graders at Sheriff's Safety Town. It includes hands-on participation in the fire and weather house, where children are trained in what to do if a tornado approaches. They also practice how to take cover in safe areas of the house, which is designed to look your typical home. I got a chance to check that out when it first opened...and it's quite amazing and accurate.  Students will be visiting Safety Town each day this week.
