Warrant Issued for Shreveport Car Theft Suspect

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a man believed to have stolen a car with a small child inside.  

Shreveport police believe 18-year-old Zerquario D. Reddix of Shreveport is the man who stole a car yesterday morning while the driver was inside a day care center dropping off one of her children.  Her 7-year-old was still in the car when a man jumped in and drove off.  Police located the car a short time later and found the child standing beside it, crying but otherwise unharmed.

An investigation has let police to believe that Reddix was the thief.  He's described as a light-skinned black male who's six feet tall or a little taller and weighs about 140 pounds.  If you know where he might be, you're asked to call Shreveport-Caddo Crime Stoppers at 673-7373 or online at lockemup.org.  A $500 reward is being offered for his arrest.
