Shreveport and Bossier youngsters might want to know about some of the most famous video games of all time. OK, lots of grown ups still have a keen connection to some of these games.

Video game lovers might want to know about the latest round of games honored this week by being named to the Video Game Hall of Fame.

Donkey Kong, Halo: Combat Evolved, Pokemon Red and Green and Street Fighter II are the latest to get the honor.

This club of games started in 2015 and honors games from all genres including arcade games, handheld games and all of the video platforms.

Thousands of nominations from more than 100 countries were considered by a committee of video game experts. How do the games get selected? Judges consider icon-status; longevity; geographical reach; and influence.

This weekend, the museum will host activities themed on past inductees at its home in Rochester, New York.
