Veterans’ Weekend Celebration Planned for Shreveport-Bossier

Several veterans' support organizations in this area have announced plans to host a special weekend honoring military veterans. It starts November 7th with a 9:30 am celebration party at the Northwest Louisiana War Veterans Home and ends with a huge Veterans Honor Parade on Veterans Day -- Sunday, November 11th. Parade Chairman Linda Clements says she's already got more than 13-hundred people committed to be in that parade...including 500 veterans.  Plus, there'll be marching bands and floats, the Shriners and their little cars, and a whole lot more. On top of that -- on that one day -- Sunday, November 11th -- all veterans and their families as well as all active duty military members and their families get free admission to The Fair and free parking. There's also a Vets for Vets biker event planned for all day Saturday, the 10th, at the River Park Church.
