Greetings Ark-La-Tex Veterans.  Please make every effort to attend the Veterans Day Program at 1:30 pm Friday, November 11th at Veterans Memorial Park located on Clyde Fant Parkway just down hill from the V.A. Hospital.

Don't forget to wear your military paraphernalia (service caps, patches, shirts, vests, jackets, etc.)  Especially remember to wear your Ribboned Louisiana Veterans Honor Medal around your neck.

We have a great 1 1/4 hour program planned that includes a B-52 Fly Over and Ron Chatelain, Louisiana's most decorated living combat war veteran will be the featured speaker.

Just remeber this party is for you.  This is your day 11/11/11 and you are the honored guests.  Please don't let all our hard work go to waste by not showing up.

Thanks for serving our country and thanks for your continued patriotism.

P.S.  Ms. Shirley Matheis of Operation Support Our Troops (O.S.O.T.) will be on site collecting food snacks, personal hygiene items, Christmas Cards, clothing items (scarfs, gloves, caps, mittens) to send to our deployed troops in Afghanistan.  She also needs used medium sized card board boxes (those that hold about 20 pounds 18" x 24" x 18") that can be used to ship items to Afghanistan.  Boxes should not have too much writing, advertising or bar codes on them.

Finally, it costs $1.45 per pound to ship via U.S. Mail.  She can always use cash donations to cover shipping costs.  Her last shipment consisted of over 110 boxes having an average weight of 20 pounds and it cost more than $3,200 to ship them: so if you can make a tax deductible donation to cover shipping costs it will be greatly appreciated.  Make you check out to O.S.O.T. or Operation Support Our Troops.
