[UPDATE] The young man wanted for robbing a postal worker earlier this week is now behind bars.

Shreveport police say 17-year-old Quadetrick Barnett is believed to be responsible for at least two armed robberies. He's identified as the suspect who robbed a freight delivery driver in the 1900 block of Alston Street on December 23. He's also accused of robbing a U.S. postal worker in the 2000 block of Garden Street five days later.

Barnett is charged with two counts of armed robbery. He's been booked into the Shreveport City Jail.


[ORIGINAL STORY]  Shreveport police are working to identify and catch a man responsible for robbing a female postal worker yesterday afternoon.

Just before 3 p.m., patrol officers were called to the 2000 block of Garden Street to reports of the armed robbery of a mail carrier by a man armed with a handgun. The man apparently approached the woman and demanded money. He ran off with some of the victim's personal belongings. She wasn't injured.

The suspect is described as a 5'4", 150-pound, light-skinned black male with a goatee. Officers and a police K-9 canvassed the area, but couldn't locate the suspect.
