A pair of local men are behind bars this morning following a fight in downtown Shreveport.

At approximately 1:40 a.m. this morning, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to call from a concerned citizen relative to a large fight in the 400 block of Clyde Fant Parkway.  Upon police arrival, several suspects fled the scene of the crime on foot in an apparent attempt to elude authorities. Moments later officers heard gunshots nearby.

Responding patrolmen investigating the disturbance ultimately caught two male suspects, later identified as 21-year-old Joe E. Martin and 19-year-old Timothy Brown, Jr. Based on information gathered and evidence recovered, officers charged Martin, of the 2200 block of C. E. Galloway Boulevard in Shreveport, with one count of resisting an officer and Brown, of the 1300 block of Wilkinson Street in Shreveport, with one count of illegal carrying of a weapon. Both men were booked into the Shreveport City Jail.

A weapon was seized during the investigation and detectives are working at this hour to identify any other possible suspects. Anyone with any information relative to this incident is urged to contact Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373.
