Two People Jailed in Separate Domestic Violence Incidents

A Barksdale Airman and a Princeton woman are in jail following two separate domestic violence incidents. The Bossier Sheriff’s Department says Wendy Bertrand was arguing with her live-in boyfriend of two years over paying bills, when he says she attacked him, biting and scratching him. Deputies found bite marks on his hip and stomach, and scratches on his neck, shoulders and torso. Bertrand later admitted to the charges and was booked with domestic abuse battery.

And 27-year-old Airman James Hulett of Bossier City got into a verbal argument with his wife of seven years at their home. Hulett, who had been drinking beforehand, got physical, shoving and pushing his wife — who is 10 weeks pregnant. He allegedly dragged the couple’s five-year-old daughter into the argument, locking him inside a bedroom with her. Once things calmed down, he admitted to arguing with his wife, saying she was easily upset because she was pregnant. He was charged with two counts of domestic abuse battery and with simple battery.
