Two of Three Louisiana Students of the Year from Caddo Parish

The Louisiana Department of Education has named the state's Students of the Year and two of the three are from Caddo Parish.  

Fifth grader Ceara Johnson from South Highlands Elementary is the state's Elementary Student of the Year and Eighth grader Safa Michigan from Caddo Middle Magnet is the state's Middle School Student of the Year.  After being honored last night in Baton Rouge, they along with the Students of the Year from each Caddo school will be honored tomorrow evening at a banquet at East Ridge Country Club.

Today, Ceara and Safa, along with Caddo Senior High School Student of the Year Madeline Wagnon from Captain Shreve visited the State Capitol.  They were welcomed by State Senator Barrow Peacock and State Representative Alan Seabaugh.
