Two Men Sentenced for Unrelated Crimes

A Shreveport man will spend the next 30 years in prison after entering a guilty plea to a drug charge in Caddo District Court. 33-year-old Timothy Dewayne Williams avoided a jury trial and pled guilty to possessing over 28 grams of cocaine. Williams entered his plea as jury selection was beginning for his trial. Judge Craig Marcotte has sentenced Williams to prison at hard labor as a second felony offender. Judge Marcotte has also sentenced 49-year-old Ronnie Wayne Yorks to spend the rest of his life behind bars. Yorks was found guilty last month of one count of aggravated rape and one of attempted aggravated rape. Now Judge Marcotte has sentenced him to life on the rape charge plus another 50 years on the attempted rape charge.
