Police have arrested two men believed to be involved in an early-morning shooting in west Shreveport. Shortly before 3:00 a.m., officers were called out to the 3100 block of Bert Kouns to reports that a man driving a black Dodge Sedan was being chased by someone in a white Chevrolet who reportedly fired shots at the man's car. Detectives say 22-year-old Tony Jenkins told them that as he drove away, at least one shot was fired at his vehicle. Jenkins' car was damaged, but he wasn't wounded.

Violent Crimes investigators were able to gather information that led them to a home in the 9400 block of Shonway Circle, where they found 18-year-old Damarcus Mitchell and 20-year-old Fatonious Ballard. They found evidence during their interviews linking both men to the shooting, and also found the weapon they allegedly used.

Investigators say the shooting apparently originated over an ongoing fued involving Jenkins, a female acquaintance and Mitchell. Mitchell and Ballard were both arrested and booked into the Shreveport City Jail. Mitchell faces charges of being principal to attempted second-degree murder and illegally possessing a stolen firearm. Ballard is charged with attempted second-degree murder.
