Two robberies...on the same street...within hours of each other. That's what Shreveport police were dealing with overnight. And they think the same man is responsible for both. The first robbery happened at the Valero gas station in the 2000 block of West Bert Kouns just before 8 last night. There, the man walked into the business armed with some sort of weapon concealed by a white cloth and demanded money from the clerk. He took the entire cash drawer and left the store in what was described as a gold vehicle. The employee wasn't hurt.

Less than five hours later, there was another robbery at the Circle K in the 3300 block of West Bert Kouns. During that one, the man burst into the store -- armed with some type of weapon covered by a black bag -- and demanded money. He got an undisclosed amount and took off...again, in a tan or gold vehicle, possibly a Chevrolet. The clerk there wasn't injured, either.

The man described in both robberies is white, about four-foot-eleven to five-feet tall. Police are trying to get surveillance video from the businesses. In the meantime, if you can help them with any information at all, call detectives (673-6955) or Crime Stoppers (673-7373).
