Two Blood Types in Short Supply Locally
LifeShare Blood Centers has put out an urgent call for donors of O-negative and B-negative blood.
LifeShare says supplies of both blood types have dropped sharply this week and donors are urgently needed to avoid a critical supply situation. All blood donors are needed, regardless of blood type, but LifeShare says these two blood types are in very short supply.
O-negative is the universal blood type which means that anybody in need of a transfusion, regardless of their blood type, can accept O-negative blood.
To meet the need, LifeShare Blood Centers in Shreveport, Bossier City, and Texarkana have extended their operating hours and a number of blood drives are scheduled over the next several days. Here's a complete listing of operating hours and blood drive locations as provided by LifeShare:
