A two-alarm fire in the Highland neighborhood destroys a home. Shreveport Fire Department Spokesman Scott Wolverton tells KEEL News the fire in the 300 block of College Street was reported shortly after 1:40 this morning.

Firefighters arrived a few minutes later to find a two-story home fully involved with fire. They pulled a second alarm to bring additional companies in to help fight the blaze. The fire was brought under control around 2:35.

Wolverton says the home is a total loss, but fortunately, the one adult male who lived there wasn't home at the time. Nobody was injured. Investigators are talking to the homeowner and checking through the rubble to see what might have caused the massive blaze.
