Students skipping school is a big problem across the country and right here in Caddo Parish, parents could pay the price if their children aren't in school.

Last year, more than 46-hundred students had truancy violations in Caddo Parish. The new plan will hold parents more responsible for making sure children are in school each day. Violators could face fines of up to $250 and even jail time for the parents of students who are repeat offenders.
