A trio of local teens is in jail for allegedly breaking into a vehicle early this morning in South Highlands. At about 2 o'clock this morning, Shreveport Police Officer Jonathan Varnell saw a young male holding a tote bag and standing near a vehicle with its door open in the 500 block of Dudley Drive. When Varnell confronted him, the guy took off running. After a brief foot chase, 18-year-old Jacody Wilson was taken into custody.

Officers recovered items taken from the vehicle on Dudley. Moments later and a few blocks away, assisting patrolmen located 18-year-olds Fabian Alexander and Kentravious Hardison. Evidence located on the two showed they were involved in the burglary, as well.

Detectives are trying to figure out whether the three teens are responsible for other similar crimes in the area. For now, they're each charged with one count of simple burglary.
