Three men are currently behind bars and a number of guns are off the Streets of Shreveport following an armed person call Monday evening.

Shortly after 4:30 p.m on October 17, 2016, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to the 1100 block of Allen Avenue after receiving reports that several males were loitering nearby and were armed with hand guns. When officers arrived, they attempted to contact the four males described by witnesses. Upon contact with the group, one of the subjects fled from officers on foot. Although he did elude capture, while running, he discarded a firearm that was later found to be stolen.

We get more from Cpl. Marcus Hines of the Shreveport Police Department:

Three other males present with the fleeing suspect were immediately detained at the scene without incident. Authorities recovered three concealed weapons from...the three detained men, bringing the total of seized firearms to five in all. Police believe they have determined the identity of the man who fled from officers, and are in the process of procuring a warrant for his arrest.

Jailed were 17-year-olds La'Gregory J. Burns and Isaiah J. Martin, and 18-year-old Quontavious J. Taylor, all of Shreveport. Each man faces a single count of Illegal Carrying of Weapons. Following their arrest, the men were booked into the Shreveport City Jail.
