Traffic Street Closed

A major thoroughfare in Bossier City is closed. Bossier police have closed a section of Traffic Street -- from just north of the entrance to the Horseshoe Casino to Broadway Street.And it will remained closed to thru-traffic for the next month. The city says it's been done to help the contractor expedite completion of the Traffic Street widening project. The hope is that it can be finished by late Fall rather than next Spring. Signs have been placed on I-20 telling motorists to use Hamilton Road if they're going to the Louisiana Boardwalk. Other detour signs are up telling motorist to use Hamilton Road as their connector between East Texas Street and Barksdale Boulevard. We should note, though, that you can still get to the Horseshoe from Traffic Street off I-20.
