Tougher Fines Could Be On The Way For Parking In Your Own Yard
It's illegal in Shreveport to park on your own grass. But the fine is only $15 dollars and the ordinance is rarely enforced.
The Shreveport Council is considering a new ordinance to beef up the fines to keep people from doing just that. If approved in a couple of weeks, the fine for a 1st offense would climb to $100. Many residents think the city has no business telling people what they can do on their private property. Others say many streets are too narrow for parking. We'll keep you posted.
