"Target games" shall live on in Louisiana public schools. The plan to eliminate dodge ball and other "target games" was scrapped by Louisiana's top school board.

The plan to eliminate such games from schools came from a group of teachers and others on a committee. However, their plan was nixed when the state Board of Elementary and Secondary Education rejected the proposal.

Some on the board feared that by eliminating such games, like dodge ball, that it would discourage student participation in physical education classes. Those opposing "target games" in schools say the games encourage bullying.

As I said on-air, let kids be kids and let them have some fun. Of course, while being monitored by someone in the school setting.
