Dallas Mayor Pro-Tem Dwaine Caraway says that the upcoming NRA national convention should be moved to another city. Caraway, a Democrat and gun control advocate, says that if the NRA comes to the city as planned, there will be protests and maybe worse.

101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty liken the politician's not-so-subtle threats of protests to mob-like extortion: "Give us what we want or somebody could get hurt."

Caraway's public statements earlier this week demanded that the 2nd Amendment group not hold their upcoming convention in Big D saying, "There will be marches and demonstrations should they (the NRA) come to Dallas." As though guaranteeing chaos, he adds that the citizens of Dallas "will be the ones to bear the cost, the responsibility and protect the citizens."
