In the aftermath of this week's severe weather, the Caddo-Bossier Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management is getting ready to offer another of its "CERT" training courses."CERT" is an acronym for Community Emergency Response Team -- people from within the community who've been trained in what to do in the event of an emergency. The course is twenty hours long and it's taught on four consecutive Tuesday evenings -- starting this coming Tuesday -- at the Shreveport Fire Department Training Academy. If you're interested, you'll be trained in first aid, light rescue, proper use of a fire extinguisher, and other emergency preparedness skills.
