Freshman pitching sensation Alex Lange gave up three first inning runs, then shut out Cal Fullerton the rest of the way, as LSU topped the Titans 5-3 Tuesday afternoon at the College World Series in Omaha.

The undefeated Lange, now 12-0, gave up six hits while striking out 10 in the game in which the loser was eliminated from the CWS tourney.

Trailing by three, the Tigers took the lead with a four run third inning, then added a single score in the seventh for the final margin of victory.

LSU is back in action on Thursday, playing the loser of the Tuesday's late game between TCU and Vanderbilt.
