Three Plead Guilty to Avoid Jury Trials
Three men have entered guilty pleas in Caddo District Court to avoid jury trials.
26-year-old Jerome Thompson has pleaded guilty to manslaughter for the death of Tremaine Perkins. Judge Ramona Emanuel immediately sentenced him to 16 years in prison.
The so-called jet ski bandits have also entered guilty pleas to armed robbery for trying to hold up a local casino.
38-year-old Lanorris Weathers has been sentenced to 45 years in prison at hard labor for actually trying to rob the casino. 22-year-old Regis Hamilton got ten years for his part as the alleged getaway driver who cruised the river on a jet ski waiting for Weathers to come out with the loot.
