Sad news to report this evening as three people have been killed in the monstrous wildfires that have ran wild throughout Tennessee over the past day and a half.

The wildfires have damaged or destroyed hundreds of buildings in and near eastern Tennessee's resort towns of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge over the past 24 hours.

Among the hundreds of structures destroyed in the area, more than 100 were in Gatlinburg. That includes a 16-story hotel and an apartment complex. More than 150 other structures in the county are believed damaged or destroyed.

This tragic event has not only killed three people, but has also sent several people to the hospital, and has easily affected thousands of lives of not only those in the immediate area, but all over the country.

The governor of Tennessee, Gov. Bill Haslam, is calling this blaze, "The largest fire in the last hundred years in the state of Tennessee."

At least 14 fires totaling almost 15,000 acres are burning across the great Smoky Mountains.

Prayers to all of those involved, and we'll keep you updated on this as more information comes out.
