Three Texas men are now behind bars following a nearly two hour stand-off during a foiled burglary at a local business Sunday morning.

It all happened at the Thrifty Liquor in the 3400 block of Youree Drive when SPD was alerted to an alarm sounding at the business. A press release from Cpl Marcus Hines, spokesman for the Shreveport Police, tells us what happened next:

On officers arrival at the business, it was apparent to officers that forced entry had been made to the store. Upon further inspection, authorities were able to observe three subjects inside the business wearing masks covering their faces. Officers quickly established a perimeter around the building and requested additional police resources in efforts to apprehend the suspects.

Members of the Shreveport Police Department's Special Response Team were mobilized along with the department's mobile command unit. While on the scene, crisis negotiators made repeated attempts to initiate contact with the subjects who took refuge inside the business. Just before 7:30 a.m. the first of three men emerged from the business surrendering to authorities. Each man was taken into police custody without incident. Following their detainment, the men were transported to Shreveport Police headquarters where they were interviewed by detectives. Following subsequent interviews, the men were each charged with a single count burglary of a business and booked into the Shreveport City Jail. Arrested in the incident was 37 year old Justin Myers of Ennis, Texas, 29 year old Markeith Hollywood of Dallas, Texas and 26 year old Claude Mcqueen of Dallas, Texas.
