Today, Fire Chief Craig Mulford announced that according to Firehouse Magazine’s ‘National Run Survey’, the Shreveport Fire Department ranks 55th out of a reported 232 fire departments for incident response calls in 2010.  Last year Shreveport Firefighters responded to 36,802 alarms for help --- Louisiana’s Crescent City, the largest city in the state, finished 73rd with 26,630 calls.

“The statistics published by this nationally syndicated magazine confirm what I have known for years.  The men and women of the Shreveport Fire Department are committed to providing the best possible service to citizens of Shreveport,” said Chief Mulford.  “SFD responded to more than 1,300 fires and over 26,000 of the Department’s total calls last year were EMS related.”
