The tragic events in Baton Rouge this weekend have had a ripple effect into various aspects of life. Including the football program on the campus of LSU.

Head Football Coach Les Miles was prepared to make his annual journey to the headquarters of ESPN to appear on multiple shows this week, but it sounds like that plan will be on hold for a little while.

Originally believed to be a response to the reeling community as a whole, we now know that the shooting Sunday was much closer to the coach than that. Here's the story from the Louisiana Radio Network:

"LSU coach Les Miles, who canceled his “car wash” trip to ESPN this week in light of the Baton Rouge Police shootings, told the network Monday that he knew one of the three officers who died.

Miles said his family had conversations with Officer Montrell Jackson, and that he, along with Baton Rouge and Louisiana, has a heavy heart. He said several players have relatives in law enforcement, and he decided not to leave town so he could be with his players in this difficult time for the state."
