A 24-year-old Texas man is behind bars in Bossier Parish for falsely reporting to police that he had been robbed at gunpoint at a local motel.

Larry Nethery, Jr., of Whitehouse told officers he was assaulted by a group of men in a room at the Bossier Inn and Suites in the 700 block of Diamond Jacks Boulevard. He said he was robbed at gunpoint, then thrown through a window. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Investigators looking into the matter found out that Nethery fabricated the story about being robbed. They learned Nethery had entered the hotel room without permission and intentionally broke the window after the occupants made him leave.

While at the Bossier City Jail, Nethery attempted to walk away from the booking area and kicked an officer in the process. He was booked into the jail, then transferred to Bossier Max. He's faces numerous charges: criminal mischief, disturbing the peace while drunk, battery on a police officer, simple criminal property damage, unauthorized entry and misrepresentation during booking.
