The Texas Avenue Makers Fair returns...next month! The Texas Avenue Community Association is hosting the Spring 2012 edition of the fair Saturday, April 14th, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event, described by organizers as "not your momma's craft fair," spans the 800 block of Texas Avenue in downtown Shreveport, and admission is free. Original artwork; hand-crafted furniture, clothing and accessories; limited-edition graphics; and made-from-scratch food are just some of the items available. Vendor registration is open now through Sunday, April 8th. You can also catch local musicians and artists at the fair. This edition also coincides with the ASEANA Spring Arts Festival, being held in the Asian Gardens at the corner of Milam and Texas Avenue from 11 to 5 that day. That's also free to attend.
