The theft of copper wiring from a local motel parking lot has landed a Texarkana woman in jail, charged with felony theft. After observing a female steal a large amount of copper wiring from his work truck, a D & D Builders, Inc. employee, notified police. 

Based on the description of the suspect and her vehicle, officers realized they may know the identity of the suspect. Officer Shawn Jacobs went to the 100 block of Connella Street in Texarkana, Texas, and found what was believed to be the suspect vehicle. Inside the vehicle was a female matching the description of the suspect. After detaining the female, Officer Jacobs observed a large amount of wire in the backseat of the vehicle. The employee followed officers to the scene and positively identified the wire and the female responsible for stealing it. Based on this evidence, Candace Bounds, 40, of Texarkana, Texas, was arrested for Theft of Material-Aluminum/Bronze/Copper/Brass U/$20,000 and Possession of Marijuana U/ 2oz.

Bounds was booked into jail at the Bi-State Justice Center and is awaiting bond.
