State health officials say three more cases of West Nile virus have been confirmed in Louisiana during the past week. All three were West Nile fever cases and there was one each in Ascension, Lafayette, and Ouachita Parishes.
State health officials have confirmed three more cases of West Nile virus in Louisiana this week. The Department of Health and Hospitals says that brings the total number of cases confirmed in our state this year to 34.
State health officials have confirmed Louisiana's first West Nile virus death of the year. It happened in Rapides Parish. There were also ten more non-fatal cases confirmed this week, bringing this year's total number of cases to 31.
State health officials have confirmed eight more cases of West Nile virus during the past week. Four of those were the most-serious neuroinvasive disease. There was one each in Caldwell, Lafayette, Ouachita, and Rapides.
