Ten years ago, Bossier City leaders decided they did not want to be part of the parade route for Mardi Gras anymore.  Part of the problem was security along the route.  The parades rolled from Pierre Bossier Mall down Airline Drive to Barksdale Boulevard and then over the Shreveport Barksdale Bridge

Shreveport Police report 80 arrests made during the Krewe of Gemini Parade. 

Based on reports from the three Shreveport Police Command Posts, there were 80 people arrested at the parade last Saturday. The arrests were mostly all misdemeanors and ran the gamut from underage possession of alcohol to public intoxication.
