A group of students at LSU-Shreveport are losing their scholarships at the end of the semester because the school is ending the men's and women's soccer program.  Now, students at the university want to save it.

Well, they didn't WIN it...but they still did well. LSU-Shreveport students Kate Ryland and Chelsea Anthony competed in the 143rd annual Interstate Oratory Championships in Boston, Massachusetts. The IOC is the oldest persuasive speaking contest in the United States, and only the top two speakers from each state quailty...

Because of a power outage on the campus, LSU-Shreveport will remain closed through this coming Sunday. Campus spokeswoman Jennifer Steadman says officials expect it to be open for business Monday, April 2nd, at 8 a.m. The delay is the result of having to replace 40 feet of underground conduit -- and having to splice the power cables in the manholes...

Instead of merging LSU-Shreveport and Louisiana Tech -- and moving LSUS to the University of Louisiana System -- the president of the LSU System has put forth another idea.
