Gumbo chefs, light up the burner under your gumbo pots because the competition in the annual Gumbo Gladiator Competition looks fierce this year. It's the 3rd annual battle for ultimate gumbo glory! The place to be is Festival Plaza on Saturday March 21...

Erin McCarty The 2nd Annual Gumbo Gladiators competition is today at Festival Plaza in downtown Shreveport.

The second annual Battle of the Gumbo Gladiators gumbo cook-off is accepting team registrations now.  The event, a fundraiser for Volunteers for Youth Justice, will take place March 29th, 2014, at Festival Plaza in downtown Shreveport.

The 1st Annual Gumbo Gladiators competition was a huge success. More than 25 teams entered the contest and they cooked 10 seafood varieties of gumbo and 22 non-seafood gumbos. The event attracted more than 1,000 people to Festival Plaza to taste the gumbo varieties.

The Volunteers for Youth Justice want you to come out on Saturday from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm for the Gumbo Gladiator competition.
